Mark is President of Avison Young Canada and a Founding Principal with more than 30 years of leadership at the firm. Since joining Avison Young in 1989 after earning an Honours BA in Urban Development from Western University, he has held progressive senior roles, including Managing Director for Ontario and Eastern Canada, and later Chief Operating Officer for Canadian Operations.

Mark serves on the Global Leadership Committee and Executive Committee, helping guide the firm’s strategic direction and growth across Canada and the global platform.

As President, Mark is a strategic leader responsible for driving performance, expanding service capabilities, and strengthening Avison Young’s presence in key markets. He provides executive leadership on major transactions, oversees national real estate teams, and plays a central role in recruiting and developing the next generation of leaders and revenue producers. His work includes advancing new service lines, expanding into new markets, and supporting successful mergers and acquisitions.

A champion of Avison Young’s culture, Mark promotes high performance, collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence. He is known for his innovative mindset, strong leadership presence, and ability to inspire teams through vision and influence.

Prior to his corporate role, for 15 years Mark was one of Avison Young’s top professionals specializing in corporate real estate assignments, regionally, nationally and internationally. With over 26 years of commercial real estate experience, Mark has been involved in billions of dollars of real estate transaction work in both leasing and investment.
