Leading global real estate investor, StarwoodCapital Group, hired us to facilitate the sale of this portfolio via conveyance of the separate tax efficient structures that owned each hotel. The opportunity allowed for the sale of individual assets or any combination. The portfolio included the Westin Ottawa (492 rooms) that garnered the most interest as an individual asset including a shared facility agreement. The other hotels included the Westin Calgary (522 rooms) and Westin Edmonton (416 rooms.)

It is vital that a high-profile hotel of this magnitude be widely marketed through the entire Avison Young global network. The importance of a well-run process proved extremely significant in hindsight of events that followed in early 2020.
