About Joe

Joe Almeida joined Avison Young’s Toronto brokerage office in 1991 and became a Principal in 2000.

Throughout his career, Joe has gained extensive experience negotiating leases and investment sales transactions for national and multinational occupants and owners of commercial real estate across various asset types, including office, industrial, data centres, and retail properties.

In 2016, Joe transitioned to a dual role as a producing Practice Leader for the Toronto West office, and in 2019, he became Managing Director of Avison Young’s downtown Toronto office. He currently serves as Managing Director, Ontario, where he oversees the operations of the Ontario offices, focusing on recruitment and business development as the company continues to expand.

A strong advocate for community involvement, Joe is an active volunteer and fundraiser for several organizations, including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Tour for Kids, and the Canadian Cancer Society.

A graduate of McGill University, Joe is dedicated to the continued professional development of the commercial real estate industry. He has contributed to various initiatives of the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors, serving on the Executive Board and as Regional Director for Canada.
