About Peter

Peter Schwann is a Principal with Avison Young’s Office Leasing and Sales Team and is an original team member in its creation over 15 years ago. Since that time, Peter and the Team continue to prove themselves as a respected, reliable, influential and market leading service provider. Peter is a member of Avison Young’s Circle of Excellence in 2018 and 2021 ‐ a distinction awarded to the firm’s top performers on a global basis.

Peter has a wealth of experience on tenant representation projects for local, national, and multinational organizations, providing strategic consulting and transactional expertise in their office sale / lease transactions, both renewals and acquisition of new premises (purchase or lease). Peter has acted on behalf of numerous real estate users, including but not limited to DIALOG, BGC Engineering, RMC Group, Covenant Health, SCM Group of Companies, Medical Imaging Consultants, ISL Engineering, HealthPointe, Ricoh and Alberta Health Services. Many are repeat clients for Peter, representing them numerous times over his career, a testament to his integrity, ability to generate trusting relationships and to deliver client driven results.

Peter is also a market leader in the implementation of marketing programs and successfully leasing and / or selling corporate office real estate on behalf of pension funds, REITS, and private sector clients. Landlord client’s include, but are not limited to, Cameron Developments, First Capital Realty, Sun Life, and Beljan Development. Peter takes pride in his strong communication skills, accountability, and thoughtful approach to accomplishing project objectives on listing assignments.

Peter sits on the Edmonton Executive Committee responsible for the implementation of the firm’s strategic plan, and acts as the Canadian leader for Avison Young's Healthcare Affinity Group.

Peter is proud to be born, raised and educated in Edmonton. He graduated from the University of Alberta, School of Business, obtaining his Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in finance.
