About Sheila

Sheila Botting is Principal & President, Global Enterprise Clients at Avison Young and a member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee. She leads enterprise client strategy, platform growth and integrated service delivery across global teams, sectors and markets, with direct responsibility for global Project Management & Consulting Services.

With more than three decades of leadership across real estate, infrastructure, workplace, project delivery, capital markets and corporate advisory, Sheila is recognized as a leading strategic advisor to owners, investors, corporations, institutions and governments. Clients rely on her expertise to translate complex business, portfolio and operating challenges into practical real estate strategies, including asset and portfolio optimization, workplace and experience transformation, public-sector modernization, cost reduction, valuation and advisory, capital planning, governance and the delivery of complex multi-stakeholder programs.

Prior to her current role, Sheila led Avison Young’s Americas Professional Services platform, where she significantly expanded the platform, strengthened financial performance and advanced service delivery and integrated client experience. She previously served as Senior Partner & Canadian Real Estate Leader with Deloitte LLP and President of Deloitte Real Estate Inc. Earlier in her career, she held executive leadership roles with another major global commercial real estate platforms, including a Brookfield-owned enterprise.

Sheila brings public-company and advisory board experience. She recently served as a Trustee of First Capital REIT and as an Advisory Board Member to Mary Brown’s MBI. She has also held numerous industry and not-for-profit governance roles across the real estate, economic development, education and community sectors.

Her work has included major transformation assignments such as the City of Toronto’s city-wide real estate review, Hamilton Waterfront redevelopment and other municipal mandates, large cost-reduction programs across the public and private sectors, and workplace, portfolio optimization and experience strategies for leading financial institutions, pension funds, corporate occupiers and public-sector organizations.

Sheila has earned numerous professional accreditations, industry honours and awards recognizing her leadership and prominence across the business and real estate community, including WXN’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women Award, the CREW Network Global Most Distinguished Women Award and other national and industry recognitions.
