With more than 15 years of experience in commercial real estate valuation, Steven Caldecott serves as Senior Director, Valuation and Advisory Services at Avison Young. His expertise spans all major asset classes including shopping centres, development land, office, retail, industrial, and multi-residential properties, providing clients with trusted insight across diverse market segments.

An accepted expert at the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Steven has provided testimony and analysis in complex litigation and arbitration matters. His depth of experience in dispute resolution has strengthened his ability to assess risk, interpret market data, and present objective, well-reasoned opinions.

Leading a team of valuation professionals in British Columbia, Steven focuses on delivering precise, market-supported appraisals and strategic advisory services that help clients make informed investment and development decisions. His comprehensive background in valuation and advisory, as well as his experience in commercial mortgage brokerage, gives him a distinctive perspective on the intersection of value, financing, and market fundamentals.

Based in Metro Vancouver and active throughout the Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, and B.C.’s interior, Steven has built deep regional knowledge and strong industry relationships that support accurate, context-driven valuations.

Outside of work, Steven enjoys spending time with his family and taking advantage of B.C.’s outdoors through skiing, mountain biking, paddle boarding, photography, and any form of competitive sport.
