Avison Young welcomes Calgary based leaders to its 2022 Principal Class March 31, 2022

David Jantzie, Scott Pickles and Tyler Wellwood join the 650+ Principals guiding the strategy of one of the leading global commercial real estate firms

Calgary, Alberta- Todd Throndson & James Heaps, Managing Directors of the Avison Young Calgary office, are pleased to announce that David Jantzie, Scott Pickles, and Tyler Wellwood have been named Avison Young Principals based in the firm’s Calgary office.

Jantzie, Pickles, and Wellwood join more than 50 Principals that are being honoured as part of the Avison Young Principal Class of 2022. As a private company, Avison Young is a Principal-led, people-first firm with more than 650 Principals across the globe; our Principals are industry leaders who exemplify Avison Young’s partnership structure, collaborative culture, and client-first mentality.

Jantzie and Wellwood specialize in servicing our Industrial clients and Pickles specializes in providing strategic advisory solutions that explore and unlock the power of real estate.

“We are proud to welcome Tyler, David, and Scott as part of Avison Young Principals as a result of their success in meeting client needs and year-over-year achievements,” said Todd Throndson. “All three new Principals have been leaders in demonstrating Avison Young’s ability to provide economic, environmental, and social benefits to our industry and we look forward to their continued leadership as part of our Principal team.”

Jantzie joined Avison Young in 2014 and has demonstrated leadership within Avison Young on both a local and global level. Jantzie was an Avison Young emerging leader ambassador for the Calgary office in 2019 and joined the global emerging leader council in 2021. His progression is a great model for the firm’s emerging leader and his focus, determination, and continued efforts on increasing his skillset are to the benefit of clients on the path to becoming an Avison Young Principal.

Pickles has been a leader in establishing and advancing Avison Young’s national consulting practice specifically targeting owners and occupiers, and in providing integrated real estate solutions across Avison Young’s service platform. He has been instrumental in Avison Young’s delivery of strategic and advice-led representation to clients, integrated with data and analytics to reach a common client goal. As a Registered Architect, coupled with an MBA specializing in sustainability, and as a LEED Accredited Professional, Pickles brings a passion for the integration of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility to ensure long-term success.

Wellwood has been a consistent producer as part of the industrial team through his technical and data-driven approach to client decisions. Recently Wellwood was a 2021 Avison Young Circle of Excellence recipient recognizing his phenomenal performance and is Avison Young’s current Industrial Affinity Group lead for Canada.

“Tyler, David, and Scott’s achievement in becoming Avison Young Principals demonstrate Avison Young’s focus on harnessing the collective intelligence of a culture-based organization powered by its people to bring unique solutions to clients,” said James Heaps. “In 2022 and beyond we look forward to our new Principals driving impact alongside our clients, community, and our Avison Young partners”.
