Mark Rose is the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Avison Young, a global leader in providing comprehensive real estate solutions to investors, owners, and occupiers across the globe. At Avison Young, Mark is transforming the firm into the commercial real estate services company of the future: data-driven, tech enabled, and grounded in a belief that strong culture can advance business goals.

During Mark’s more than 15 years at Avison Young, he has leveraged his diverse background as a leader and strategist across the commercial property sector to drive the firm’s global growth while creating social impact. Alongside his leadership team, he has spearheaded the company's expansion from 290 real estate professionals in 11 Canadian offices to approximately 5,000 professionals in 100 offices worldwide. During Mark’s tenure, Avison Young has been named one of Fast Company's World's Most Innovative Companies, one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for 12 consecutive years, and one of Forbes' America's Best Midsize Employers.

Before Avison Young, Mark held executive positions at two global, publicly traded commercial real estate firms, including Chief Executive Officer of Grubb & Ellis Company (NYSE:GBE) and Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of the Americas for Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE:JLL).

Over the past three years he has been a regular contributor and participant at the World Economic Forum and a proud member of the Davos Baukultur Alliance. Mark is a frequent speaker on topics related to real estate, global business trends, and how corporations can create both social and economic value. In 2016, he received recognition as one of the Best Bosses in CRE by the Real Estate Forum.

Mark currently serves on the Boards of Deskpass and the WEF Real Estate Governors Board. Additionally, he is actively involved in mentoring emerging leaders through programs such as the NAIOP Greater Toronto Chapter Mentorship Program and The Goldie Initiative. Mark is an active member of both The Real Estate Roundtable and REALPAC. He currently serves on the Queens College Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

Previously, Mark was a board member of the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and the Chicago Botanic Gardens, as well as the real estate advisory board of the University of Miami (FL) Business School.
